Why won't my Wii spin the Super Mario Galaxy 2 disc?

It spins it and the game title shows up, but after pressing start on the game it gives me the error screen. I noticed it stopped spinning the disc before the error. I put in Brawl afterwards, and it worked fine. I don't know what's wrong.
